🧠Navigating the position: Software Tester
Based in our Software Testing team, the Software Tester will design, create, and execute manual and automated test cases to validate software functionality as well as identify, document, and track defects in our issue tracking system.
**Please note this is an initial 6 month fixed term contract**
Key Responsibilities
- Design, create, and execute manual and automated test cases to validate software functionality.
- Identify, document, and track defects in a test management or issue tracking system (e.g., Jira).
- Perform functional, regression, exploratory, and API testing to ensure system stability and reliability.
- Collaborate with developers and product managers to refine testing requirements.
- Conduct API testing using tools like Postman, Swagger etc.
- Ensure test coverage across various test levels (integration, system).
- Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with customers testing teams and provide recommendations for software readiness.
- Work in an Agile development environment with familiarity to Agile ceremonies, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Support the adoption of test automation frameworks where applicable (e.g., Identification of automation areas).
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- 3+ years of experience in software testing, preferably in an Agile environment.
- Strong understanding of testing methodologies, including functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.
- Experience with defect tracking tools such as Jira and Azure DevOps.
- Hands-on experience with API testing tools like Postman, REST Assured, or similar.
- Automation experience is preferred, familiarity with tools like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright is absolutely a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
- A willingness to get involved with peripheral departments (support, ops, professional services etc) to streamline processes and enhance quality.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Basic knowledge of SQL for database validation and testing.
- ISTQB certification (Foundation Level or higher) is a plus but not required.
