Solution Architect – Databricks experience

Overview

Expleo is seeking an experienced Data Solution Architect to join a major Supply Chain data transformation programme for a leading international retailer.

This role will play a key part in delivering one of the organisation's first production-ready solutions on Databricks, providing technical leadership, architectural direction, and guidance to Data Engineering teams throughout the delivery lifecycle. The successful candidate will be a Databricks subject matter expert with a strong track record of designing and delivering enterprise-scale data solutions.

Responsibilities

• Define solution architecture for Data & Analytics initiatives.
• Lead the design of data models, integrations, and ETL/ELT solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and best practice guidance on Databricks.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions.
• Produce architecture documentation and support governance activities.
• Identify and manage technical risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture principles and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Relevant cloud or data platform certifications are advantageous.

Essential skills

• Strong hands-on Databricks expertise.
• Deep understanding of data architecture, integration patterns, and modern cloud data platforms.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience leading technical teams within Agile delivery environments.

Experience

• 10+ years' experience in Data Architecture, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale data transformation programmes.
• Demonstrated success designing and implementing production-ready Databricks solutions.
• Experience mentoring and guiding engineering teams on architecture and best practices.
