A reputed healthcare facility in the UAE is seeking a highly skilled Specialist Periodontist (Western Qualified) to join its multidisciplinary dental team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive periodontal care, including the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases affecting the supporting structures of the teeth. The Specialist will also perform advanced periodontal surgical procedures, dental implant therapy, and regenerative treatments while delivering patient-centered care in accordance with international clinical standards and UAE healthcare regulations.

The role involves close collaboration with prosthodontists, orthodontists, oral surgeons, endodontists, restorative dentists, and dental hygienists to achieve optimal oral health outcomes.

Requirements

  • Diagnose, prevent, and manage periodontal diseases affecting the gingiva, periodontal ligament, cementum, and alveolar bone.
  • Perform comprehensive periodontal examinations, including clinical charting, periodontal probing, radiographic interpretation, and risk assessment.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans for patients with gingivitis, periodontitis, peri-implant diseases, and other periodontal conditions.
  • Perform non-surgical periodontal therapy, including scaling and root planing.
  • Carry out advanced periodontal surgical procedures, including flap surgery, gingivectomy, gingivoplasty, crown lengthening, frenectomy, and soft tissue grafting.
  • Perform regenerative periodontal procedures utilizing bone grafts, guided tissue regeneration (GTR), and biologic materials where indicated.
  • Evaluate, plan, and perform dental implant placement within the scope of approved clinical privileges.
  • Diagnose and manage peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis.
  • Collaborate with restorative dentists, prosthodontists, orthodontists, oral surgeons, and other specialists in multidisciplinary treatment planning.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, periodontal maintenance, implant care, and preventive dental health.
  • Maintain accurate electronic dental records and treatment documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with DHA, DOH, or MOHAP regulations, infection prevention standards, radiation safety requirements, and quality assurance policies.
  • Participate in clinical audits, continuing professional development (CPD/CME), quality improvement initiatives, and departmental meetings.
  • Supervise dental hygienists and provide clinical guidance where appropriate.
