The successful candidate will play a key role in the rapid assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of stroke patients while working within a multidisciplinary stroke team.
The Specialist will contribute to the development of stroke pathways, quality improvement initiatives, and education programs to support the hospital's commitment to delivering world-class neurological care in accordance with international guidelines and UAE healthcare regulations.
Requirements
Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with acute ischemic stroke, hemorrhagic stroke, transient ischemic attack (TIA), and other cerebrovascular disorders.
Lead the rapid evaluation and management of acute stroke patients within established stroke protocols and treatment timelines.
Evaluate patients for intravenous thrombolysis and coordinate timely referral for mechanical thrombectomy where indicated.
Interpret neuroimaging, including CT, CTA, MRI, and vascular imaging, to support clinical decision-making.
Develop individualized treatment and secondary stroke prevention plans.
Manage stroke-related complications, including dysphagia, seizures, cerebral edema, venous thromboembolism, and cognitive impairment.
Collaborate closely with neurologists, emergency physicians, intensivists, neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, rehabilitation specialists, vascular surgeons, and nursing teams.
Participate in multidisciplinary stroke rounds, case discussions, and discharge planning.
Provide patient and family education regarding stroke prevention, rehabilitation, lifestyle modification, and long-term follow-up.
Maintain accurate electronic medical records and clinical documentation.
Participate in the hospital's stroke program, clinical governance activities, quality improvement projects, and accreditation initiatives.
Contribute to continuing medical education (CME), departmental teaching, and staff training programs.
