Speculative Application - Design

HundredStar Games is an independent video game developer based in Hackney Wick, East London, founded by Jamie Walker and Sefton Hill, previous founders of Rocksteady and the creative leadership team behind Rocksteady’s Batman Arkham series.

Growing to a maximum of 100 people over the next few years, we’re doing things differently at HundredStar, so we can focus on making great games and building meaningful connections with those we work with.

Our company culture and way of working is unique to the industry and encourages leadership at all levels, autonomy, accountability, team support, sharing vulnerability, and building context, connection, and treating people well.

We’re a hybrid studio, with everyone working in studio Tuesday through Thursday, with Mondays and Fridays open to WFH within the UK.

Working mainly across Level design and Gameplay, our designers shape the mechanics of the game while building engaging, memorable, and highly playable spaces that bring gameplay and storytelling to life. Focused on the feel of the game and flow of the explorable space, from early grey-box concept through final polish, they continue to push what is possible to make sure each area has purpose and each mechanic brings something new to the game.
