Spring Intern: Housing Center

Overview

The American Enterprise Institute’s Housing Center seeks an intern to support the research of Senior Fellows Edward J. Pinto and Tobias Peter on domestic housing, historical and current mortgage lending policies, and financial policy reform.

Primary assignments will include helping maintain the center’s various indexes and large databases; supporting research through data management, retrieval, and analysis; editing and contributing to scholarly papers, articles, and op-eds; creating and formatting charts and tables, graphic displays, and presentations; and performing other general tasks.

The ideal candidate will be able to multitask, have experience using Excel and Stata (or other statistical software), have succinct writing skills, and be comfortable working independently. Experience in data cleaning and analysis and knowledge of Python, R, SQL, and/or AI are preferred but not required. Candidates who are able to participate in the program on an in-person basis for 30-40 hours a week are encouraged to apply.

As part of the application, candidates should include standardized test scores (e.g. SAT, ACT, etc.) in their application package.

About AEI Internships

AEI internships offer a unique opportunity for undergraduates, graduate students, and recent graduates to gain experience in research, writing, business, and communications at one of the nation’s leading think tanks. Competitive candidates will generally have a GPA of 3.5 or higher from a top-ranking college or university.
