Sr Lab Support Specialist - 1st Shift

Join our dedicated team in Unity Lab Services as a Lab Support Specialist, where we provide seamless support tailored to our customers' unique needs.We’reseeking an organized individual to handle lab support operations, includingglasswash, garment management, and gas/dry ice management.You'llbe the primary point of contact for lab personnel, ensuring compliance and efficiency in all support activities.

A day in the Life:

• Perform specific tasks associated with labware operations, including precision cleaning, inventory management, quality control, and sterilization through autoclaving

• Handle gas cylinder order placements andpossessknowledge of gas meters, with the ability to safely manage encounters with HAZMAT materials.

• Collect used labware/materials from various labs and ensure dedicated points of use are fully restocked

• Handle gas, garment, and dry ice management, ensuring a consistent supply and safe storage of these materials.

• Partner with clients to understand their labware and material needs, providingtimelysupport and ensuring stock availability

• Follow well-defined procedures as outlined by Best Practices, SOPs & Work Instructions

• Maintainaccurateinventory records, fulfill contractual obligations, andassistin tracking business metrics.

• May perform other duties as assigned by management.

Keys to Success:

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

2+ years' experiencewith material handling, customer facing, lab environment or related experience isrequired.

Good x Practice (GxP) environment or laboratory setting experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Proficiencywith Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Outlook, Teams).

• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a safety-first approach.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

• The role primarily involves working independently at customer sites, which may include areas with chemical-based allergens like penicillin and tetracycline.

• Personal protective equipment, such as lab coats, coveralls, facemasks, and steel-toe shoes, is oftenrequired.

• The position requires regular lifting of 30-40 lbs (up to 50 lbs occasionally) and using equipment like pushcarts and pallet jacks.

• Standing, walking, reaching, and bending are frequent activities, sometimes in varied temperature environments.

• Overtime work may also be necessary.
