The Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for the end-to-end accounting operations of a recently acquired ~$30M business unit that currently operates on separate systems, processes, and controls from the parent organization. As part of a $650M+ enterprise experiencing significant growth, this role serves as the primary accounting leader for the acquired division, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong controls, and operational continuity while supporting a planned integration over the next two years.

This role requires a hands-on accounting leader who can operate independently, manage the complexities of a standalone business, and partner effectively with Sr. Leaders in Finance and in the business. To gain understanding of integration requirements, individual will also support projects for Accounting. This role leads 2 individuals supporting: Order to Cash – Billing, collections processes as well as Procure to Pay / vendor invoice controls prior to payment approvals. The successful candidate will balance day-to-day accounting execution with longer-term process improvement and integration initiatives.

Duties & Responsibilities

Business Unit Accounting Ownership

  • Own the complete accounting function for a $30M acquired business unit, including general ledger, month-end close, account reconciliations, accruals, Inventory, revenue recognition, and balance sheet management.

  • Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and corporate accounting policies.

  • Maintain accountability for the integrity of the division's financial results and balance sheet.

  • Coordinate monthly reporting requirements and submissions to the Accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis leadership team.

  • Support Broader BDA Accounting initiatives / projects as part of gaining capabilities and knowledge that will be required to lead the integration of this acquired business unit into BDA Systems and processes.

Close, Reporting & Analysis

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for the acquired division.

  • Review and analyze financial results, investigate variances, and provide insights to Accounting and FP&A leaders.

  • Support efficient and effective reporting, journal entries and analysis required to consolidate financials, including the reconciliation of intercompany accounts.

  • Prepare schedules and analyses supporting management reporting, sales tax compliance, year end audits, and strategic decision-making.

  • Provide timely inputs for Sales commission estimates, support any bonus plan changes directed by HR

Controls & Compliance

  • Maintain an effective control environment over the acquired business's accounting processes.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and audit requirements.

  • Support Accounting leadership in providing necessary schedules and supporting documentation during annual external audits.

  • Identify opportunities to strengthen controls and improve operational efficiency.

Accounting Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and develop a small accounting team, including a Billing Specialist and Accounts Payable Specialist.

  • Establish priorities, monitor performance, and ensure timely execution of billing, collections support, accounts payable, and month-end close activities.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer service.


Integration & Transformation

  • Act as the accounting lead for the division's future integration into the broader organization. As part of this Individual will support additional BDA Accounting workstreams

  • Partner with corporate teams to standardize processes, improve controls, and align accounting practices with enterprise requirements.

  • Support system migrations, process harmonization efforts, and integration workstreams over the next two years.

  • Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and scalability while maintaining operational continuity.


Business Partnership

  • Act as a trusted advisor to divisional leadership on accounting, financial reporting, and operational matters.

  • Support strategic initiatives, business changes, and growth opportunities through sound financial stewardship.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve business processes and/or address accounting requirements


Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • CPA/MBA preferred.

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, operational accounting and financial reporting.

  • Experience managing month-end close and financial statement preparation.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently with broad ownership and accountability.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting acquisitions, carve-outs, or post-acquisition integration activities.

  • Experience managing accounting for a standalone business unit, subsidiary, or legal entity.

  • ERP implementation or finance transformation experience.

  • Experience in a high-growth or multi-entity environment.

  • Builds effective partnerships across accounting, finance and key operational stakeholders
