Staff Accountant
The Staff Accountant role is a vital role on the Finance Team, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records and assisting with the preparation of financial statements. This role is responsible for performing a variety of accounting duties, including reconciliations, financial reporting, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- General Ledger Maintenance:
- Assist in preparing journal entries and maintaining the general ledger
- Ensure the accuracy of the accounting data and make necessary corrections as required
- Financial Reporting and Reconciliations:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports
- Create variance reports to analyze income/expenses ensuring accurate reporting
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts
- Monthly reconciliation of bank accounts
- Other Duties:
- Assist with financial and tax audits
- Continuous review and improvements of processes and procedures
- Special projects as assigned
- Collaborate with Central and Campus teams to streamline processes and ensure information is timely and accurate
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment
- Advanced excel skills, including pivot tables and v-lookups
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Ability to learn new systems & processes quickly
