THE ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Staff Shuttle Driver, your primary responsibility is to safely and punctually transport employees between staff accommodation and their workplaces throughout the Hakuba Valley. You will play a vital role in ensuring our daily operations run smoothly by providing reliable transportation while maintaining a professional, friendly, and safety-focused approach.
This role requires confidence operating larger vehicles in winter conditions.
DRIVER DUTIES
- Staff Transportation: Drive staff safely and punctually between staff accommodation and their work locations throughout the Hakuba Valley. Ensure a safe, comfortable, and reliable journey for all staff members.
- Cleanliness: Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicles by regularly cleaning the interiors and exteriors. Ensure that the vehicles are free from snow, ice, and damage before each trip, and that they are properly fuelled at all times.
- Vehicle Checks: Conduct routine pre- and post-shift vehicle inspections to ensure the shuttle is safe and ready for operation. Report any maintenance issues or deficiencies to the appropriate team members.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with other staff members and be willing to help them with their tasks when needed. Foster a cooperative and supportive work environment.
- Issue Resolution: Identify and address any issues with the vehicle promptly. Report any mechanical or maintenance problems to the appropriate personnel for resolution.
- Adaptability: Be open to taking on additional duties as assigned by management. Show flexibility in adapting to specific role requirements and operational needs.
- Snow Clearing: Ensure that shuttle vehicles, parking areas, and designated pickup and drop-off points are clear of snow and ice to maintain safe operating conditions.
- Shuttle Operations: Operate scheduled staff shuttle services while adapting to operational requirements and changes throughout the day.
WHAT YOU NEED
- Legal right to live and work in Japan
- Valid Japanese Driver's License and/or International Driving Permit (with Classes B and D stamped)
- Comfortability driving large vehicles
- Comfortable driving in snow, ice, and challenging winter road conditions
- Aged 26 years or older to meet insurance requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and public holidays
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting luggage and clearing snow
- Strong work ethic with a team-first mentality
- English fluency; Japanese is an advantage
- Ability to commit until at least March 31, 2027
