Steward (Hell's Kitchen)

Overview

The Steward/Dishwasher plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and efficiency of the kitchen. This position ensures all dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen areas meet the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation in a fast-paced, high-pressure culinary environment

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans promptly and efficiently
• Maintain cleanliness, organization of dishwashing stations and kitchen areas
• Operate dishwashing equipment safely and effectively
• Basic kitchen cleaning tasks, including floors, walls, and waste disposal
• Ensure proper storage of clean dishes and equipment
• Support chefs and kitchen staff by providing clean tools and equipment as needed
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
• Take out garbage and recycling, maintaining a clean waste area
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries when required
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a kitchen or similar environment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
• Good physical stamina; able to stand for long periods and lift heavy items
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude
• Fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment
• Exposure to heat, noise, and cleaning chemicals
• Requires standing for extended periods and repetitive motion
• Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hours/day
• Must be able to lift/carry up to 30 lbs

The schedule for this position may vary and would require the ability to work shift work, late nights, overnight, weekends and holidays.
