To supervise and coordinate maintenance stores operations to ensure effective inventory control, optimal stock availability, and the efficient management of spare parts, equipment, and consumables in support of maintenance activities. The role is also responsible for maintaining accurate maintenance records, work orders, and data management systems to support efficient plant operations, while ensuring maintenance teams have timely access to the information and documentation required to perform their duties effectively and maintain departmental audit readiness.
Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Sound knowledge of inventory control practices, including stock receiving and issuing, stock rotation, cycle counting, min/max inventory levels, reorder point management, and critical spare parts control.
- Experience maintaining maintenance records, work orders, inspection reports, checklists, equipment history records, and other maintenance-related documentation.
- Ability to prepare purchase requisitions, monitor supplier deliveries, track lead times, follow up on outstanding orders, and assist with the processing and reconciliation of supplier invoices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, with the ability to maintain spreadsheets, develop reports, and monitor inventory and maintenance data.
- Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation spare parts, as well as maintenance activities within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate inventory records, filing systems, and supporting documentation.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to identify inventory discrepancies, process inefficiencies, and opportunities for continuous improvement within stores and maintenance administration functions.
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience in Stores Management, Inventory Control, Maintenance Administration, or a related industrial operations support environment.
