Subcontracting Manager Shipyard (0003 Jan 2025)

Royal Ocean Marine is looking for a talented and experienced Subcontracting Manager to join our client's shipyard team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing all subcontracting operations, ensuring that projects meet quality, cost, and time requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in subcontract management within the maritime or shipbuilding industry and possess excellent negotiation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire subcontracting process, from supplier selection to contract negotiation and execution.
• Identify and evaluate potential subcontractors, ensuring they meet project standards and requirements.
• Negotiate subcontract terms and conditions to promote favorable outcomes for the shipyard.
• Collaborate with project managers and internal teams to align subcontracting objectives with project goals.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and enforce compliance with contracts and regulations.
• Manage risk by identifying potential issues and resolving them proactively.
• Maintain accurate records of subcontract agreements, performance, and compliance.
• Continuously evaluate subcontracting processes and implement improvements for efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree marine engineering, naval architect or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 to 7 years of experience in subcontract management, preferably in shipbuilding or maritime operations.
• Strong knowledge of procurement and subcontracting processes.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and procurement software.
• Familiarity with maritime regulations and industry compliance standards is an advantage.
