Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire subcontracting process, from supplier selection to contract negotiation and execution.
- Identify and evaluate potential subcontractors, ensuring they meet project standards and requirements.
- Negotiate subcontract terms and conditions to promote favorable outcomes for the shipyard.
- Collaborate with project managers and internal teams to align subcontracting objectives with project goals.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and enforce compliance with contracts and regulations.
- Manage risk by identifying potential issues and resolving them proactively.
- Maintain accurate records of subcontract agreements, performance, and compliance.
- Continuously evaluate subcontracting processes and implement improvements for efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree marine engineering, naval architect or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 to 7 years of experience in subcontract management, preferably in shipbuilding or maritime operations.
- Strong knowledge of procurement and subcontracting processes.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and procurement software.
- Familiarity with maritime regulations and industry compliance standards is an advantage.
