Substitute School Nurse (On-Call)

McLean School, a supportive and inclusive K–12 community with campuses in Potomac, Maryland (just one mile apart), is seeking a compassionate and skilled Substitute School Nurse to join our health team immediately on an as-needed basis during the 2026-2027 school year.

The Substitute Nurse will support our Kindergarten-Grade 4 (Falls Road Campus) and Grades 5-12 (Lochinver Lane Campus) students by:

• Providing first aid and attentive nursing care to students and faculty/staff throughout the school day
  
  
• Administering medications safely in accordance with Physician Orders and School Policy
  
  
• Documenting visits and treatments using Magnus Health, our electronic medical record system
  
  
• Partnering with students, families, and faculty/staff to promote student well-being and readiness to learn
  
  
• Managing the Health Room independently with professionalism, warmth, and calm under pressure

We will typically be able to provide advance notice and, when possible, confirm coverage for multiple days at a time.

Compensation: $40-$50 per hour, based on experience.
