Supplier Risk Manager

We are looking for a Supplier Risk Manager to join our global Procurement Strategy Office (PSO). In this newly created role, you will design and implement the frameworks, processes, and governance needed to identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate supplier-related risks across our global supply base.

This is not a legal compliance role. Instead, we are looking for someone who understands risk management, can translate complex requirements into practical processes, and has the ability to engage stakeholders across the business to drive adoption and accountability.

You will operate at the intersection of Procurement, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Sustainability, Cyber Security, Quality, and Legal, helping Vanderlande stay ahead of emerging risks while maintaining compliance with global regulations.

What you will do

As Supplier Risk Manager, you will establish and drive Vanderlande's supplier risk management approach. You will work across our global procurement organization to ensure supplier risks are identified, assessed, prioritized, reported, and managed effectively.

You will translate regulatory requirements, enterprise risk frameworks, and business needs into practical supplier risk processes that can be embedded into day-to-day procurement activities.

This is a highly visible role with global impact, offering the opportunity to build new capabilities from the ground up while influencing senior stakeholders across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and Drive Supplier Risk Management

• Design and implement Vanderlande's supplier risk management framework

• Define risk assessment methodologies, processes, governance structures, and reporting mechanisms

• Establish risk monitoring processes across the supplier lifecycle

• Ensure supplier risks are systematically identified, assessed, mitigated, and monitored

Translate Regulatory Requirements into Action

• Drive implementation of supplier-related regulatory requirements including areas such as:

• Cyber Security

• Product and material compliance (including PFAS, REACH, RoHS and similar regulations)

• Sustainability and ESG requirements

• Trade compliance and sanctions

• Emerging global supply chain regulations

• Convert complex requirements into practical procurement processes and controls

• Ensure compliance obligations are embedded into supplier management practices

Build Supplier Risk Insights

• Define supplier risk categories, scoring methodologies, and risk indicators

• Establish dashboards, KPIs, and reporting for leadership and governance forums

• Support the development of supplier risk profiles covering areas such as cyber security, regulatory compliance, sustainability, geopolitical exposure, and operational resilience

• Provide insights that enable risk-based decision making

Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Act as the key procurement interface towards Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)

• Work closely with Procurement, Cyber Security, Sustainability, Legal, Quality, Engineering, and Business stakeholders

• Align risk management activities across functions and regions

• Create awareness and engagement around supplier risk management throughout the organization

Lead Change and Capability Building

• Drive adoption of supplier risk processes across procurement teams

• Develop clear guidance, standards, and operating procedures

• Support procurement teams and business stakeholders in applying risk frameworks

• Promote a pragmatic and risk-based approach to decision making

What You Bring

We are looking for a professional who combines strong analytical capabilities with the ability to influence and drive change across a complex international organization.

You bring:

• 5+ years of experience in Supplier Risk Management, Procurement, Supply Chain, Compliance, Enterprise Risk Management, or a related field

• Experience developing and implementing risk management frameworks, governance structures, or compliance programs

• Understanding of supplier-related risks, such as cyber security, regulatory compliance, sustainability, sanctions, or operational risks

• Ability to translate complex requirements into practical and scalable processes

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

• Experience influencing senior stakeholders in a matrix organization

• Excellent project and program management capabilities

• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail

• A pragmatic approach and the ability to balance risk management with business needs

Nice to have:

• Experience with Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks

• Knowledge of regulations such as PFAS, REACH, RoHS, CSRD, EUDR, Cyber Security, or similar regulatory domains

• Experience with supplier risk assessment tools or procurement technology platforms

About the Team

You will join the Procurement Strategy Office (PSO), a newly established global team focused on Procurement Strategy, Sustainability, Risk Management, and Business Transformation.

The team currently consists of eight professionals with global responsibilities. Together, they drive strategic initiatives such as procurement digitization, supplier sustainability programs, risk management frameworks, and business transformation projects.
