A household in Walnut Creek is seeking an experienced and highly reliable Part-Time Housekeeper to provide consistent hands-on housekeeping, laundry, organization, and general home support.

The household consists of two adults in an approximately 2,700-square-foot, three-bedroom, three-bathroom home. The client works from home and is looking for someone who can work independently, maintain high standards without requiring close supervision, and bring a calm, professional presence into the residence.

Reliability, trustworthiness, and consistency are paramount in this role. The ideal candidate takes genuine pride in maintaining a clean, orderly home, notices what needs attention, and follows through thoroughly. In addition to regular housekeeping, the client would particularly appreciate someone who enjoys organization and decluttering projects and can help create and maintain practical systems throughout the home.

The family is open to structuring the position as either three or four full days per week, depending on the candidate and overall fit.

There are two large dogs and two cats in the home, so candidates must be genuinely comfortable working around large dogs and household pets.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough routine housekeeping throughout the residence, including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and common areas.
• Maintain the home between deeper cleaning tasks through regular dusting, vacuuming, mopping, surface care, and general tidying.
• Manage household laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and putting items away appropriately.
• Change linens, make beds, and maintain bedrooms and bathrooms to a consistently high standard.
• Assist with organization and decluttering projects, creating practical systems that are easy to maintain.
• Keep closets, cabinets, storage areas, and frequently used household spaces neat and orderly.
• Provide occasional light cooking or simple meal preparation as requested.
• Monitor general household order and proactively address tasks that need attention rather than waiting to be directed.
• Use household-provided cleaning products and supplies appropriately and carefully.

Qualifications

• Prior professional housekeeping experience in private residences strongly preferred.
• Strong hands-on cleaning skills and a clear understanding of appropriate cleaning methods.
• Excellent organizational skills with an interest in decluttering and maintaining orderly spaces.
• Dependable and punctual, with a demonstrated history of consistently showing up as scheduled.
• Trustworthy, discreet, and respectful of the client's home, belongings, and privacy.
• Self-directed and able to work efficiently without constant oversight.
• Calm, low-key professional presence and comfortable working while a principal is home.
• Comfortable using translation technology when needed; perfect English fluency is not required provided there is a reliable way to communicate effectively.
• Comfortable around large dogs and cats.
