Sierra Lobo, Offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Full Life Cycle Systems Engineering for Low Production of Aerospace Systems, and Development of Advanced Technologies. We develop products related to Cryogenic Infrastructure, Cryogenic Fluid Management Systems, Optomechanical Systems, electrical and mechanical GSE, and flight electronics. Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and many aerospace primes.

Space Flight Systems Development and Operations Contract (SpaceDOC III) contract located at NASA's Glenn Research Center.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

NASA Glenn Research Center, under the SpaceDOC-III contract, is seeking a Systems Engineer with 15+ years’ experience in spaceflight project engineering support in documentation, requirement management, cross-discipline coordination, processes, and logistics. This position may support a variety of projects including a lunar surface power distribution project.

Typical Functions:

Adhere to all applicable Company, Customer and Industry safety standards and practices.

Experience with technical documentation and writing.

Requirement management, including integrating deriving technical requirements and verification tracking.

Project coordination between the Integrated Project Team (IPT) consisting of various engineering disciplines and stakeholders.

Help identify process improvements and drive process implementation.

Support design narratives, system drawings, technical studies, and reports as required.

Use of MS Office products including, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and MS Word. Experience with MS Project is desired.

Aid with project identification of component needs, procurement, and tracking.

Assist in the development of a new integrated spaceflight system.

Create and deliver concise technical summary reports to the team.

Assisting project management with project planning and adjusting schedule timelines.

Support in risk identification and risk management.

Tracking and supporting the submission of project deliverables to customer stakeholders.

Support the quality of the project deliverables.

Complete assigned projects on time and on budget.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

The successful applicant will possess a BS or higher degree in an engineering field (granted by an ABET-accredited university), physics, or other related field of science.

Specialized knowledge and experience within one or more of the following: spaceflight hardware development, procedure development, operations & processes, testing and test summary reports,

Demonstrable knowledge of general-purpose software tools such as MS Excel, MS Word, MS Power Point is required. MS Project is desired.

Space industry experience for all project phases from project inception, and through design, development, procurement, assembly, test, validation, integration and operations.

Prior experience coordinating within a project team and communicating assignments.

US Citizenship required and the ability to qualify (and maintain qualification) for a Secret Clearance is desired.

Excellent communication (verbal and written) and phone skills.

Ability to hear normal conversation. One eye (minimum) correctable to 20/20.

On site with occasional remote work possibilities
