Team Leader - Electrical leads and coordinates safe, code-compliant electrical works for live events and exhibitions, from workshop pre-build to on-site power-up and strike.

About this role

Team Leader - Electrical

A premier Saudi Arabian entertainment and hospitality company owned by the PIF. Was founded in 1997 as the nation’s first athlete representation agency,  has now evolved into a global developer of iconic destinations and spectacular live experiences.

The Electrical Team Leader for the fabrication and production workshop is responsible for the safe, code-compliant, and on-schedule delivery of all electrical works across SELA's event, exhibition, and show productions — from workshop pre-build through final on-site power-up and strike. He/she will coordinate with the Installation, Rigging, AV, and Design teams to ensure that power distribution, show lighting circuits, control cabling, and electrical fit-outs are built, tested, transported, and installed to the highest safety and quality standards, on time and within budget. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical proficiency in electrical systems for live events, combined with the ability to lead and develop a site-based electrical crew.

Key Responsibilities
1. Production & Supervision

  • Workflow Management: Plan and schedule electrical works for each project, aligning with the overall production and installation timeline.
  • Pre-fabrication & Testing: Ensure all power distribution boards, cable looms, control panels, and lighting/electrical assemblies are built, tested (PAT/continuity/load testing), and signed off in the workshop before dispatch to venue.
  • Packing & Loading: Supervise the safe packing, labelling, and loading of cables, distros, fixtures, and electrical equipment to prevent damage or loss in transit.
  • Resource Management: Monitor manpower, electrical materials, consumables, and tools, and requisition or secure them as required to avoid site delays.
  • Quality Control: Inspect all electrical installations, temporary power distribution, and lighting/AV power circuits to ensure compliance with design specifications, SASO/Saudi Electrical Code requirements, and client quality standards.

2. Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Risk Management: Develop and enforce Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for temporary power, generator hook-ups, and on-site electrical installations.
  • Safety Enforcement: Ensure all team members comply with Health & Safety policies, including LOTO (lock-out/tag-out) procedures, RCD/earthing protection, safe use of PPE, and safe handling of power tools and test equipment.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all temporary electrical installations meet Saudi Electrical Code, civil defense, and venue-specific electrical safety requirements for public events.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop and site environment (5S standards), with cabling and distribution runs managed to eliminate trip and fire hazards.

3. Team Leadership & Communication

  • On-site Leadership: Lead daily site electrical operations and allocate tasks to electricians and technicians, ensuring efficient use of manpower to meet load-in and show-ready deadlines.
  • Coaching & Mentoring: Train and mentor junior electricians and technicians on power distribution, cable management, lighting circuits, and tool/equipment safety.
  • Performance Monitoring: Conduct daily toolbox talks and team briefings, monitor crew performance, and provide feedback to improve efficiency and reduce rework or snags.
  • Project Liaison: Liaise with production managers, lighting/AV designers, riggers, and site management to provide progress updates, resolve technical bottlenecks, and ensure a seamless power-up for every show or activation
