All JerseySTEM roles are pro-bono (unpaid) positions.JerseySTEM is a mission-driven professional network of pro-bono contributors dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey.

Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization’s gender-equity agenda.Membership is a minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week and includes a $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership. K–12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit.

Overview

JerseySTEM provides free after school STEM classes to underserved middle school girls grade 5-8.

We are seeking a dedicated Flexible Tech Support Volunteer to play a pivotal role in helping new volunteers acclimate to our digital ecosystem. In this volunteer position, you will provide initial orientation sessions to new team members, introducing them to the tools we use at JerseySTEM, including Google Workplace and Jira.

Responsibilities

• Ensure members can seamlessly navigate between Google Workplace, and Jira.
• Operate Member Help Desk, providing weekly metrics on incoming incidents and SLAs
• Conduct scheduled 30-minute orientation sessions for new volunteers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any login issues or technical challenges.
• Collaborate with the TECH team to provide ongoing support and guidance.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with Google Workplace, and Jira is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience and willingness to assist individuals with varying levels of technical expertise.
• Availability to conduct orientation sessions twice a week (weekday/evening) or ad-hoc.
• Commitment to JerseySTEM's mission of providing STEM education to underrepresented middle school girls.
