The Technical Architect is a senior technical expert responsible for designing scalable solutions, defining architecture, and ensuring high-quality delivery across Salesforce platforms, including Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud, and CRM. This role serves as a key reference for technical strategy, mentoring team members, guiding implementation decisions, and ensuring adherence to best practices. The Technical Architect evaluates complex technical challenges, oversees code quality, and collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to ensure feasibility and alignment with broader solution design.
Key Responsibilities
·Design and define technical architecture and solution approach across Salesforce platforms (MC, MC Personalization, DC, CRM).
·Review and validate solution designs from Technical Developers and Senior Technical Developers.
·Lead client discovery sessions to uncover requirements, clarify business needs, and translate findings into actionable technical direction and architectural recommendations.
·Lead project delivery in close partnership with the Project Manager and Account Manager, ensuring technical execution aligns with scope, timelines, and client expectations.
·Provide architectural direction across the project lifecycle while collaborating with PM and AM to anticipate risks, support decision‑making, and maintain a unified delivery strategy.
·Provide guidance on data models, integrations, API strategy, and security best practices.
·Oversee code reviews and ensure adherence to architectural and coding standards.
·Estimate complexity and effort for high-impact technical tasks and projects.
·Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies during design and development phases.
·Collaborate with Solutions Architects to ensure alignment between technical implementation and business/solution design.
·Support troubleshooting of high-complexity defects and production issues.
·Document architectural decisions, technical patterns, reusable components, and deployment guidelines.
·Participate in pre-sales efforts by providing technical feasibility, architecture input, and scoping support when required.
·Mentor developers, provide technical coaching, and promote continuous improvement within the practice.
·Lead and support the deployment architecture across environments, defining standards, release strategies, and automation approaches to ensure scalable, reliable, and low risk deployments.
Skills & Competencies
·Advanced Salesforce development (APIs, integrations, scripting, configuration, orchestration).
·Expertise in API architecture, consumption patterns, and secure authentication methods.
·Deep understanding of relational databases, data modeling, and transformation strategies.
·Strong command of version control, branching models, and collaborative development workflows.
·Architectural patterns, object-oriented programming, and event-driven design.
·Advanced knowledge of web security, data privacy, and compliance considerations.
·Ability to create and maintain technical documentation at architectural depth.
·Excellent analytical and critical-thinking skills, especially in complex debugging scenarios.
Tools
·GitHub/GitLab for version control, code reviews, and collaboration.
·CI/CD (GitHub Actions/GitLab CI) for automated build, test, and deployment pipelines.
·Salesforce platform tooling: CLI utilities, deployment frameworks, environment management.
·API tools such as Postman for testing and debugging integrations.
·Monitoring/observability tools for logs, metrics, and performance debugging.
·Code quality tools such as linters, static analysis (e.g., Sonar), and security scanners.
Preferred Qualifications
·7–9 years of related technical experience in Salesforce or MarTech environments.
·Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
·At least 5 Salesforce certifications (e.g., Data 360, Salesforce Platform administrator, Platform Developer (any), Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder , others).
·Experience designing and delivering complex multi-cloud Salesforce implementations.
·Strong experience in agency, multi-client, or consulting delivery environments.
