About the role
As a technical leader you will be responsible for driving architecture, solution design, hands-on development, quality, and AI-enabled engineering practices within the team. You will collaborate closely with Engineering teams and business stakeholders to refine requirements, establish best practices, and drive secure, scalable, and future-proof solutions.
Your responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end architectural design, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and technical alignment.
- Drive the full SDLC including requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
- Define architectural standards, coding guidelines, and engineering best practices.
- Develop technical strategies aligned with product and business goals.
- Implement design patterns, microservices, APIs, and integration frameworks.
- Use AI-assisted tooling (Copilot, Claude Code) to enhance team productivity.
- Conduct code reviews, technical deep dives, and solution assessments.
- Mentor engineers, promote continuous learning, and guide technical decision-making.
- Collaborate with product, architecture, QA, DevOps, and cross-functional teams.
- Oversee performance engineering, security best practices, and operational readiness.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and lead adoption where appropriate.
Minimum qualifications
- Strong analytical and deductive reasoning skills.
- A collaborative team player with a proactive mindset.
- Demonstrated experience in technical analysis and problem-solving.
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Windows environments.
- Ability to define, automate, and execute comprehensive test plans and test strategies.
- Ability to lead cross-functional engineering teams.
- Fluent in Dutch, French, and English (spoken, written, read).
- 5+ years of hands-on software development experience.
- Expertise in architecture design, distributed systems, and solution engineering.
- Strong experience with APIs, integration, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with ERP-related applications, including accounting modules.
- Strong database knowledge (SQL/NoSQL), modelling and optimization.
- Experience implementing CI/CD, DevOps, testing automation, and observability.
- Experience working with AI development tooling and ML-assisted productivity.
Nice to have
- Experience with Agile methodologies, especially the SAFe framework.
- Experience working in a multi-site or international environment.
- Familiarity with Dealer Management Systems (DMS).
- Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence).
