Role Summary
The Technical PM — IoT is the operational center of gravity for Lifepro’s IoT product team. This person owns end-to-end coordination across factories, the Tuya platform, the Copilot/Star backend, the app development team, and internal stakeholders. They are the person who ensures nothing falls through the cracks between a factory firmware update and a sprint delivery.
UX design and flows are managed by the internal UX lead; this role supports sprint scheduling and delivery coordination, not design direction. The Technical PM keeps engineers focused on building by owning the connective tissue between every workstream.
What You’ll Do
Product & Sprint Ownership
- Own the full product lifecycle from factory hardware readiness through app release — tracking dependencies, timelines, and blockers across all workstreams
- Facilitate sprint planning in collaboration with the UX lead — translate design deliverables and app features into sprint-ready tickets with clear acceptance criteria and sequencing
- Maintain the project board (Monday.com) with up-to-date task status, ownership, and due dates across all teams
Vendor & Platform Coordination
- Manage day-to-day communication with factory partners on firmware timelines, module certifications, Tuya pairing compatibility, and sample availability
- Coordinate with the Tuya platform team on product category setup, DP configuration, cloud project settings, and API access
- Liaise with the Copilot/Star team on API integration timelines, feature availability, and data sync requirements
Team & Stakeholder Management
- Run weekly syncs with the development team to surface blockers, adjust priorities, and communicate changes from stakeholders
- Escalate factory or vendor delays to Wham Studio and Lifepro leadership with options and recommendations — not just status updates
- Track QA test cycles and coordinate developer build availability with QA test schedules
- Document decisions, open items, and technical agreements so institutional knowledge is captured and accessible
Who You Are
- You have 4+ years in a technical PM, program manager, or senior PM role — ideally with IoT, hardware, or connected products experience
- You thrive managing multi-vendor technical environments where nothing is fully in your control
- You speak the language of APIs, SDKs, BLE/WiFi connectivity, and firmware — without needing to code
- You communicate clearly across factories (China), platform partners, and internal stakeholders
- You are organized and proactive, and you escalate with options — not just status updates
- You have experience with agile/sprint planning methodologies and tools (Monday.com, Jira, or equivalent)
- You write clearly — product briefs, meeting summaries, escalation memos
- You can work across time zones with factory partners in China and a global development team
- Nice to have: hands-on Tuya platform configuration (cloud projects, DP setup, app SDK), background working with consumer electronics factories in China or Southeast Asia, BLE LE device commissioning experience, and fitness / health tech / connected home product backgrounds
Success Metrics
- Sprint velocity maintained with zero missed deliveries attributable to PM coordination failures
- Factory and platform dependencies tracked with no surprise blockers reaching the development team
- Project board accuracy — all tasks current, owned, and dated at all times
- QA test cycles coordinated without build availability delays within 60 days of hire
Cross-Functional Relationships
- Factory Partners (China): Firmware timelines, module certifications, Tuya pairing compatibility, sample availability
- Tuya Platform Team: Product category setup, DP configuration, cloud project settings, API access
- Copilot/Star Backend Team: API integration timelines, feature availability, data sync requirements
- Mobile Developers (iOS & Android): Daily coordination on task status, blockers, build delivery to QA
- UX/UI Designer & UX Lead: Sprint scoping and design dependency sequencing (no design direction)
- QA Engineer: Build availability, test cycle scheduling, defect escalation
- Wham Studio & Lifepro Leadership: Vendor escalations, roadmap alignment, quarterly strategic planning
