Job Description & Responsibilities


The Technical Trainer is accountable for the effective delivery and coordination of technical, operational, and safety training programs. This role also oversees the administration, accuracy, and compliance of training records and databases, ensuring training requirements are consistently met and maintained in accordance with organizational standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.

  • Develop, design, revise, maintain, and deliver frontline technical, operational, and safety training
  • Create presentations, procedures, instructor guides, written examinations, practical evaluations, and competency assessments
  • Evaluate employee competency and provide coaching
  • Maintain training records, databases, and training systems
  • Support implementation and improvement of the LMS (Workday LMS)
  • Work with plant leadership on training priorities and workforce development
  • Monitor training effectiveness and employee competency
  • Identify improvements to training programs and delivery methods
  • Provide instructional support during shutdowns, hiring campaigns, major projects, commissioning activities, and vacation relief.
  • Facilitate training and evaluations when Union Trainers are unavailable or additional facilitators are required.
  • Assist with scheduling training sessions and testing programs.

Requirements


  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Experience in training, learning & development, or a similar role
  • Industrial/manufacturing experience preferred
  • Experience with training systems and continuous improvement
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and training skills
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Experience with training systems
  • Knowledge of industrial safety training
