Project Overview
We are looking for experienced and safety-focused Test Drivers to support a road data collection project focused on capturing information about road signs, traffic lights, and other road infrastructure.
Drivers will operate a project vehicle along predefined routes and collect high-quality data using specialized equipment installed in the vehicle.
Key Responsibilities
- Sunny and low-sun conditions
- Rain and cloudy weather
- Fog
- Snow and snow-covered roads
- Check equipment and data collection setup before and after each shift.
- Safely handle and transfer project SSDs and other equipment as required.
- Send collected SSDs to the Operations Lead after each shift, following the established project process.
- Report any equipment issues, route deviations, incidents, or data collection problems promptly.
- Maintain accurate records and follow all safety and operational guidelines.
Candidate Requirements
Mandatory:
- Valid driver's license and a strong, safe driving record.
- 5+ years of driving experience.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Clean criminal/background check.
- Comfortable driving for extended periods and covering assigned routes independently.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and predefined routes.
- Comfortable working with technical equipment and basic digital tools.
- Strong attention to detail and responsibility for project equipment and collected data.
- Willingness to drive in varying weather and road conditions, including snow.
- Good communication skills and ability to report issues clearly.
Weather & Driving Conditions
This project requires drivers to operate vehicles in diverse environmental conditions and locations. Depending on the assigned location and weather, driving may include rain, fog, low sun, snow, and snow-covered roads.
To support safe winter operations, winter tires and snow chains will be provided where required.
Work Environment
This is a field-based role involving significant time on the road. Drivers should be comfortable working independently, following daily route assignments, and maintaining consistent data collection quality throughout each shift.
Previous experience in ADAS, mapping, autonomous vehicle testing, or other automotive data collection projects is strongly preferred.
