Test Technician - TIRE

Overview

Calspan is the premier independent provider of testing and technology development services, solutions, and systems in the aerospace, defense, and automotive industries. We are looking for a Test Technician to join our 3rd shift team!

Calspan’s Tire Performance Testing team provides tire research and testing services. The unique capabilities of the laboratory are used to help innovators measure and understand tire performance and characteristics for all types of tires, from automobiles, trucks, and aircraft.

Responsibilities

• Support testing by efficiently operating equipment and ensuring accurate results and records. Provide technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered before, during, and after testing.
• Perform set-up and installation of equipment, instrumentation, cable routing, soldering and checkout before, during and after the test.
• Support the maintenance, installation and repair of test equipment to maximize operational availability.
• Document test procedures and installations. Provide guidance with data calculation.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• AAS or Bachelors in related discipline
• 3+ years in related discipline or;
• A combination of education and experience equivalent to above

• Troubleshooting mechanical or electrical problems
• Electrical and electronic principles
• Perform operations and execute moderately complex test procedures for engineering, scientific, or real-time data acquisition
• Read and understand engineering plans and specifications
• Read drawings and troubleshoot
• Microsoft Office
• Must be able to work 3rd shift

The salary range provided is a general guideline. Actual pay will depend on several factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and other applicable qualifications. Calspan is committed to pay transparency in compliance with applicable state and local laws.
