Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) Program Supervisor – Edmonton, AB

CarePros is one of Edmonton's leading agencies providing Therapeutic Foster Care Placements to youth with complex behavioural needs, significant trauma, emotional dysregulation, and high-acuity support requirements. We focus on cultural connection, family reunification, and the transition into adulthood. The youth in our care require therapeutic crisis intervention, medication administration, behavioural support planning, and consistent trauma-informed responses during escalations.

You will oversee Family-Based and frontline service providers, ensuring that services delivered meet the needs of our youth and their families in a compassionate and respectful manner. The TFC Program Supervisor reports to the Senior Program Supervisor, while managing responsibilities focused on supportive care and engagement with our persons served. This role supports families from all backgrounds throughout the intake process through to discharge. You will oversees the day-to-day operations of your TFC placements and Family-Based programs. This includes coaching your frontline Child and Youth Care Workers (CYCWs), ensuring documentation and reporting standards are met, and helping to create stability in high-needs environments.

You Will Need

• Confidence and experience working with high intensity specialized programming, complex behaviours, and trauma.
• Experience supporting escalated youth safely and therapeutically.
• Medication management experience.
• Critical Incident Reporting knowledge.
• Strong leadership under pressure.
• The ability to stay calm, regulated, and professional in unpredictable situations.
• A hands-on leadership style.

Work Schedule

• Full-time, permanent.
• Monday to Friday (40 hours per week).
• On-call rotation required.

What You’ll Do

• Build trust through consistency, engagement, and genuine connection.
  
• Lead, coach, and mentor your CYCWs.
• Set and maintain high standards of care.
• Support scheduling, staffing, and day-to-day operations.
• Collaborate with internal teams (People & Culture, Finance).
• Partner with families, caregivers, and external stakeholders.
• Ensure safety, compliance, and program consistency.
• Participate in on-call support rotation.
• Distribute data reports to various internal/external stakeholders.
• Develop and implement service process improvements to increase quality of care provided.
• Respond when necessary to crisis situations.
• Manage safety plans.

What You Bring

Core Requirements

• 3+ years of direct care experience with children and youth that have complex developmental disabilities and/or significant mental health needs.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience in front-line care. Managing front-line care employees and family based contractors.
• 3+ years of experience working with Children and Family Services, Family Support for Children with Disability. Working with children and youth contracts.
• Post-secondary education in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, or a related field.
• Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License.
• 3-year Alberta Driver’s Abstract.
• Reliable 4-door vehicle.
• Alberta Vehicle Registration.
• $2 Million Alberta Auto insurance liability.
• Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check VSC (within past 5 months).
• Clear Intervention Record Check IRC (within past 5 months).
• Standard/Intermediate First Aid with CPR Level C.

You must be able to:
