Position Overview

Tarpon Specialty Services is hiring TIG Tackers welders for industrial piping projects in the Walker / Baton Rouge, LA area. You'll work alongside experienced pipe fitters and welders performing TIG tacking on piping systems in a fast-paced industrial environment. This role is for someone who knows their way around a TIG torch and is ready to produce quality work from day one.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform TIG tacking welding on pipe and piping components per specifications and fit-up requirements

• Assist pipe fitters with layout, fit-up, and assembly of piping systems

• Read and interpret basic pipe drawings, isometrics, and weld symbols

• Cut, grind, and prep materials as needed prior to tacking

• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas

• Follow all company safety policies and site-specific procedures

Requirements

• Hands-on TIG tacking experience on pipe — industrial or construction environment preferred

• Ability to produce clean, consistent tacks that hold fit-up and meet weld quality standards

• Familiarity with pipe fit-up, hand tools, grinders, and prep work

• Safety-conscious, dependable, and able to work at pace

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions

• Must pass a drug screen and background check

• Reliable transportation to and from the jobsite

Schedule & Pay

• Full-time — 40+ hours per week with overtime available

• Competitive pay based on experience and skill level

• Per diem available for qualified travelers
