PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
- The Trainer is responsible for delivering high-quality theoretical and practical training in their designated trade discipline.

JOB REQUIREMENTS & ACCOUNTABILITIES
Training Delivery
- Deliver classroom-based theory and practical workshop training in accordance with approved curriculum and competency standards.
- Prepare lesson plans, training materials, and practical demonstrations.
- Use modern teaching methodologies and technology to enhance learning outcomes.
- Ensuring training aligns with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Student Assessment & Support
- Conduct assessments (theory and practical) in line with competency-based training standards.
- Mark and grade assessments accurately and provide constructive feedback.
- Identify students requiring additional support and provide remedial training where necessary.
- Maintain accurate training and attendance records.
Curriculum & Compliance
- Assist in reviewing and updating training materials to ensure relevance to industry developments.
- Ensure compliance with national education and training authorities and accreditation requirements.
- Maintain documentation for audits and quality assurance processes.
Safety Management
- Ensure workshop and training areas comply with Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) standards.
- Enforce safe work practices and proper use of tools and equipment.
- Report hazards, incidents, or damaged equipment immediately.
- Maintain inventory of training materials and tools.
Industry & Stakeholder Engagement
- Maintain strong relationships with industry partners and employers.
- Support student workplace attachments, apprenticeships, or on-the-job training placements.
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
- Teaching/Training qualification (Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40110/TAE40116/TAE40122) or equivalent) is Essential.
- Minimum 3–5 years industry experience in the trade
- Teaching/Training qualification (e.g., Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of workplace safety standards
- Experience in vocational education and training (TVET) environment
- Assessor accreditation Industry licenses (where applicable)
