Tyler Coupling, located in Marshfield, Missouri, is a manufacturing facility owned by McWane, LLC. that produces couplings and gaskets used in cast iron plumbing systems throughout North America. Job Summary:

Under the general direction of the Health and Safety Manager & Environmental Manager, the EHS Specialist maintains operations in compliance with all federal and state environmental laws. The HS Specialist also ensures the facility is in compliance with corporate programs, facility-specific procedures and work instructions. 

Responsibilities: 

1. Responsible for maintaining daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly inspection forms required by the company for the purpose of accuracy and retention.  This will be done by all applicable standards and as required internally.
2. Conducts / participates in site investigations and internal audits, prepares reports, and facilitates activities to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations and procedures.
3. Data entry for EHS software technologies for safety programs on a regular basis (e.g., SharePoint, and Cority).
4. Required to compose PowerPoint presentations and conduct safety training for employees, including New Hire Training for all new employees.
5. Responsible for and assisting operations personnel in the writing of Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and LOTO instructions and other safety procedures.
6. Assists HS Manager in accident investigations, weekly, monthly inspections, audits, report writing and corporate communications.
7. Facilitates the creation and maintenance of a safe working environment for all employees. Looks for opportunities to get employees involved in environmental, safety, process changes and overall continual improvement efforts of the plant through the plant’s cascading goals.
8. Responsible for safety and regulation compliance and training for contractors and subcontractors.
9. Member of the emergency response team.
10. Must be willing to travel for seminars, training, and continuing education.   Required to come in early or stay late as needed.
11. Performs various other miscellaneous duties pertaining to the overall safety related functions as required.  Such as facilitating multiple safety committees.
12. Must be able to complete work under specified deadlines and with limited supervision.
13. Looks for opportunities to get employees involved in safety, environmental, process change and overall improvement efforts.
14. Utilizes Cority system to provide and surmise injury data for various reports, presentations and meetings
15. Other HS duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in industrial safety or related field. 
2. At least two years of health/safety work or related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3. Must be diligent and self-motivated.
4. Must possess good oral and written communication skills.
5. Be able to contribute to and support the existence of a positive work environment.
6. Must possess good analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Proficient use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and other programs as needed.
