Client Overview: Our client is a global food and consumer products manufacturer with a highly automated production environment and operations across multiple international markets.

Job title: UGP Manager

Mission: The UGP Manager is responsible for the overall performance of an assigned production unit, ensuring the achievement of safety, quality, production, cost, and efficiency objectives. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position oversees the effective use of production resources, drives continuous improvement initiatives, coordinates with maintenance and other functional teams, and develops the capabilities of employees within the unit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the assigned production unit with accountability for safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, labor, maintenance, and operating costs.

• Ensure compliance with safety requirements, identify potential risks, and promote a strong safety culture within the production area.

• Oversee production performance and product quality, ensuring adherence to established processes, standards, and work instructions.

• Develop and manage production, maintenance, and energy budgets in collaboration with the appropriate plant functions.

• Optimize the use of labor, equipment, materials, energy, and other production resources to maximize operational performance.

• Coordinate maintenance priorities and support the development and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance plans.

• Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, efficiency, waste reduction, and overall production performance.

• Approve and oversee weekly production plans, monitor performance against plan, and take corrective action when deviations occur.

• Plan staffing and labor requirements and coordinate the activities of direct reports and production personnel.

• Develop employees through coaching, training, and continuous performance improvement.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
  

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field.

• Minimum of 4 years of production or manufacturing experience within a multinational organization.

• Demonstrated experience leading production teams and managing day-to-day manufacturing operations.

• Strong understanding of production efficiency, continuous improvement, safety, quality, and cost management.

• Excellent team leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

• Fluent English communication skills.

• Ability and willingness to travel internationally.
  

Other information: Candidates must have valid authorization to work in Mexico. International travel will be required for the position.
