Underground Laborer

Join our team and play a key role in the installation and maintenance of underground OSP telecommunications infrastructure. As an Underground Laborer, you’ll work alongside skilled operators and foremen to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality construction of underground cable systems.

Responsibilities:

• Load, transport, and unload materials to and from job sites
• Set up and maintain safe, compliant work zones following all safety regulations and guidelines
• Prepare work areas by shoveling dirt, digging holes and trenches, and assisting operators with conduit installation
• Perform spot digging to safely expose existing utilities
• Feed cable from large reels into conduit
• Ensure proper placement of marker tape when laying cable
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of debris
• Assist the Foreman and crew with daily job-site activities as needed

Skills & Qualifications:

• Previous experience in underground construction preferred
• Familiarity with underground construction tools and equipment preferred
• CDL preferred
• Knowledge of Ditch Witch, Vermeer, Mini Excavators, and similar underground construction equipment is a plus
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outdoor environment
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to lift at least 75 lbs.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening
• Valid driver’s license required
