Mason Private Locating, LLC is seeking motivated, safety-focused individuals to join our team as Underground Utility Locate Technicians in the Bismark, ND area.

Position Overview

In this role, you'll locate and mark both public and private underground utilities in support of a variety of infrastructure and construction projects. As projects progress, you'll also perform Watch & Protect services, helping ensure excavation activities are completed safely and preventing damage to critical underground infrastructure.

What You'll Do

• Locate and mark underground utilities for private and public infrastructure using industry-standard equipment
• Read and interpret utility maps, construction plans, and GIS data
• Accurately identify and document underground utility locations
• Support construction crews by providing accurate utility locates before excavation begins
• Transition into Watch & Protect duties by monitoring excavation activities and helping prevent utility damage
• Communicate effectively with contractors, utility owners, and project managers
• Complete required documentation using mobile applications and company software
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures and industry best practices
  

Required Qualifications

• 1+ years previous utility locating, construction, telecommunications, or underground utility experience is required!
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to walk long distances and lift up to 50 pounds
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Must successfully pass a background check and drug screen
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous construction experience
• High School diploma or GED
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
  

Schedule

This position requires flexibility to meet customer and project demands.

• Full-time position
• On-call availability is required, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency response when scheduled
• Guaranteed 40 hours, even during winter months
