Job Summary:
Under the general direction of the Job Foreman, the Union Operating Engineer will be responsible to safely and efficiently support construction operations on civil, utility, and infrastructure projects. This role involves physical work, teamwork, and a strong commitment to safety. All efforts should be done in alignment with the strategic vision of the company, and they are intended to support our continued commitment to the highest level of ethics, integrity, and excellence in all aspects of the company's operations.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Perform general construction labor including material handling, site cleanup, and trench work
- Assist equipment operators, pipe crews, and skilled trades
- Set up and maintain jobsite safety measures
- Use hand tools and small power tools as required
- Follow instructions from foremen and supervisors
- Maintain a safe and productive jobsite
Skills Required:
- Current LiUNA union membership or ability to obtain
- Ability to pass required DOT/PHMSA drug and alcohol testing
- Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- CDL is a plus and compensated at additional rates per union agreement
