The Work:
The Microsoft 365 Developer serves as the primary technical resource responsible for designing, building, and maintaining workflow automations, reporting solutions, and data structures across Microsoft 365. This role requires strong independent problem‑solving skills, ownership of technical decisions, and the ability to research and resolve complex technical issues with minimal guidance. As the technical SME, the developer supports data governance practices, partners with cross‑functional teams, enables responsible use of AI tools, develops and maintains complex workflows, advises on simpler automations, and ensures system stability, risk identification, and technical accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
Independent Technical Solution Development
- Design and implement solutions autonomously through structured research, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Diagnose workflow failures, SharePoint issues, and data inconsistencies.
- Build and optimize Power Automate workflows and SharePoint integrations.
- Create and enhance Power Apps forms and interfaces.
- Develop internal tools such as validation utilities, data mappings, and proof‑of‑concept automations.
- Troubleshoot Excel/Access exports and VBA macro errors.
- Resolve permission and security challenges across Microsoft 365 environments.
- Leverage documentation, forums, and experimentation—including AI‑supported research tools—to accelerate analysis and improve solution quality.
Information Architecture & Data Stewardship
- Ensure data structures are accurate, stable, and sustainable. Validate datasets used by automations or AI-enabled processes meet data governance standards
- Design and maintain SharePoint list architectures, including migrations, clean‑ups, redesigns, and post‑migration validations.
- Manage inventories, reference materials, and data dependencies supporting automations and AI‑connected workflows.
- Follow SDLC principles, including change management, version control, and testing practices.
Analytical & Reporting Expertise
- Improve reporting systems through structured analysis and reconciliation.
- Troubleshoot Power BI data models and source issues.
- Enhance multi‑step reporting workflows and pipelines; perform logic verification and updates to documentation.
Collaboration & Communication
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to non‑technical partners.
- Document workflows, solution logic, and designs.
- Explain technical impacts and tradeoffs and gather requirements to ensure solutions fit business needs.
Continuous Improvement & Self‑Directed Learning
- Demonstrate initiative in improving tools, processes, and personal technical capabilities.
- Identify automation and architecture enhancements.
- Explore emerging tools and best practices and apply new knowledge to evolving systems.
Here’s What You Need:
- Advanced expertise in SharePoint Online (architecture, permissions, migrations).
- Advanced proficiency in Power Automate.
- Experience with Power Apps development and interface customization.
- Power BI expertise (Power Query, dataset troubleshooting).
- Strong Excel, Access, and VBA troubleshooting and solution development.
- Experience with GitHub for change management and version control.
- Familiarity with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Claude.
- Working knowledge of .NET/C# fundamentals.
- Experience with Microsoft Forms and legacy SharePoint Designer approaches.
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Microsoft Power Platform certifications.
- Prior experience supporting enterprise‑scale Microsoft 365 environments.
- Background designing internal tools and utilities for workflow automation and data quality.
- Experience optimizing architecture for AI‑connected workflows.

The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below.
