Visiting Analyst
AI Summary
Visiting Analyst at a European VC fund to identify and engage with early-stage founders, perform thesis-driven research, and support the investment team across market mapping, competitive analysis, and due diligence.
About this role
3VC is a European venture capital fund that invests in carefully selected startups with global ambition once they have achieved product-market fit. Our team is composed of former founders and operators who are driven by curiosity but grounded in discipline. We focus on quality over quantity and partner with only a handful of exceptional companies per year.
We offer a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of Venture Capital through a 6-month off-cycle engagement. We are looking for someone to join the investment team and help us identify, meet and engage with exceptional founders that are eager to build significant companies coming out of Europe. This experience is designed to give you a foundation for a future career in Venture Capital, launching your own startup, or joining an early-stage company. There may be an opportunity to continue with us beyond the initial six months.
Your Responsibilities
We expect you to:
Identify and engage with outstanding founders and companies as early as possible. You’ll also perform thesis-driven research and monitor data-driven dealflow to discover opportunities.
Be embedded in the senior investment team and work on a variety of tasks ranging from market mapping, testing solutions and competitive analysis to supporting the entire due diligence process.
Why Join Us?
You will be joining a team working together in an open and straightforward culture with flat hierarchies.
You will have the opportunity to grow and develop in your role, interacting with stellar founding teams and working alongside the 3VC investment team.
This is a launchpad. Whether you stay with us, start your own company, or join a portfolio star, these 6 months will define your trajectory.
You will be based in Vienna – the most livable city in the world – and will interact with startup founders and teams and top investors across the EU, the UK, and the US. You will work from a beautiful office in the 1st district in Vienna with the option of home-office/remote work.
You will receive a remuneration package starting at € 40.000 gross annually (on a full-time, all-in basis).
What Are We Looking For?
Conviction: You are expected to have opinionated views on major trends as well as on individual opportunities. You don’t just follow trends; you have a thesis on why they matter (or why they’re hype).
Tech Native: A proven passion for software and technology. You're the person friends turn to for tech recommendations, and you spend weekends experimenting with new tools or models.
Natural Networker: High-energy connector who thrives on building relationships, meeting new people, and engaging with the founder ecosystem.
Grit & Optimism: A proactive self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive, resilient mindset.
Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (STEM or business-related). Previous internship or work experience in tech, consulting, or startups is preferred.
Eligibility: EU citizenship or a valid work permit for Austria.
