The Visiting Lecturer – Engineering is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning within the assigned engineering subject area. The position involves delivering lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, assessments, and providing academic guidance and support to students.

The successful candidate will bring strong academic knowledge and/or relevant industry experience and will contribute to an engaging, practical, and student-centred learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, tutorials, workshops, laboratory sessions, and practical classes as assigned.
• Prepare and deliver well-structured and engaging teaching sessions aligned with the approved curriculum and learning outcomes.
• Explain engineering concepts clearly and relate theoretical knowledge to practical and industry applications.
• Use appropriate teaching methodologies, technology, case studies, demonstrations, and problem-solving activities.
• Encourage critical thinking, analytical skills, innovation, and practical application of engineering knowledge.
• Maintain a professional and positive learning environment.

Subject Delivery

We are looking for bellow areas of expertise, the Visiting Lecturer may be required to teach subjects such as:

• Introduction to Energy and Resource Engineering
• Engineering Drawing and Computer-Aided Design (CAD)
• Engineering Mechanics
• Materials and Manufacturing
• Introductory Physics

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess:

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a relevant discipline from a recognised institution.
• A Master's degree or higher qualification in a relevant discipline will be an advantage.
• Relevant professional qualifications and/or industry certifications will be considered favourably.

Experience

• Previous university, higher-education, teaching, tutoring, or training experience is preferred.
• Relevant industry experience will be highly valued, particularly for subjects with practical or technical components.
• Experience teaching engineering foundation subjects will be an advantage.
• Experience working with undergraduate students is preferred.

Our main campus in Colombo, Sri Lanka, is conveniently situated between the CBD and the Parliament area, close to restaurants, shopping, and other amenities. Located within a multifunctional building, the campus features purpose-built biomedical, engineering, and computer laboratories, a digital hub, a large modern library, contemporary classrooms, student collaboration spaces, and a coffee lounge.
