Welder/Compactor Technician

E.L. Harvey & Sons is looking for a Welder/Compactor Technician to join our team in New Bedford, MA.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00am to 3:30

Rate: $28.00 to $30.00 per hour (Dependent on Experience)

As a Welder/Compactor Technician with us the minimum responsibilities are:

• Perform welding and electrical repair of trash containers and compactors.
• Perform sanding and painting of trash containers.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate and OSHA standards.
• Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
• Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks.

What we need from you:

• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
• Prior experience with electrical and hydraulic systems is highly preferred.
• Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
• Work environment may be indoors in a shop, or outdoors to repair containers in the yard. Usually well-lighted and ventilated. Sometimes necessary to work in awkward or tight positions and to handle greasy or dirty tools. These factors require following basic safety precautions.
• Respirator fit test required.
• Minimum 1 years of experience in MIG welding
