Skilled Carpenter / Framer

Gallaher Company is seeking an experienced Skilled Carpenter / Framer – Lead Technician to join our Restoration Division.

This is a hands-on field position for an experienced carpenter who is capable of independently leading the full scope of a construction/build-back project. The Lead Technician will take ownership of assigned jobs in the field, perform skilled carpentry work, coordinate the work required to complete the scope, and ensure projects are completed efficiently and to a high standard of quality.

We are specifically looking for someone with at least 5 years of experience leading jobs, not simply assisting as part of a crew.

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on carpentry/construction experience with demonstrated experience leading jobs
• Strong, hands-on structural framing experience
• Ability to read, understand, and work from construction plans and drawings
• Strong understanding of proper framing methods, layout, and construction practices
• Finish carpentry experience, including installation of:
  • Baseboard, casing, and crown molding
  • Interior/exterior doors
  • Cabinetry
• Ability to perform rough/general carpentry, including:
  • Framing and structural repairs
  • Fence repairs
  • Siding replacement
  • Other general build-back and carpentry repairs
• Ability to independently assess an assigned scope, determine the work required, and carry the job through completion
  

Experience with flooring installation, drywall installation/repair, and painting is not required but is highly preferred and considered a strong plus.

Additional Requirements

• Reliable work truck
• Basic hand tools
• Valid California driver's license and clean DMV record
• English required; Spanish is a plus
• Hard-working, punctual, dependable, and able to work independently
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions, plans, procedures, and job scopes
• Ability to work full time, including weekends and participation in on-call rotations
• Must be available for emergency response work after hours and on weekends as needed
• Must Maintain a professional appearance due to client interaction.
• Provide exceptional customer service with empathy and understanding during a stressful time.
• Work safely at heights, following all safety protocols and using proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Follow all applicable OSHA, and local safety regulations for hazardous materials handling.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be open to mitigation cross training

What We're Looking For

This position is best suited for an experienced tradesperson who does not need another technician directing each step of the job. The ideal candidate can be given a project scope, understand what needs to be done, perform the skilled work required, and lead the job in the field from start to finish while maintaining quality and efficiency. We are looking for someone with demonstrated experience taking ownership of and leading construction jobs independently.
