The Northern Lights Village brand was born in 2016 and since then we have opened three resorts in Finnish Lapland. About the Role

We are seeking for outgoing Wilderness Guides with a cheery personality to join our company. This position is perfect for people with a passion for nature, outdoors, and adventure, to grow their career at the Northern Lights Village

Key Responsibilities

• Greeting customers and providing excellent customer service

• Offering thermal clothing, giving instructions and briefing guests about activities

• Leading outdoor activities and excursions, tailored to the guests' interests and level of experience

• Ensuring the safety and comfort of all participants, providing first aid assistance if needed

• Sharing extensive knowledge of the local flora, fauna, geography, and culture

• Teaching essential wilderness survival skills

• Photographing northern lights with guests

• Following company policies and procedures

• Ability to work independently, and as a team

• Maintaining and caring for outdoor gear and equipment, as well as cleanliness of the safari house

• Reporting possible damages and / or accidents

Requirements

• Experience as a wilderness guide or in a similar role

• Valid B drivers’ license

• Fluent written and spoken English

• First Aid certificate

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

• Ability to work outdoors, in cold temperatures

• Friendly personality

• Knowledge of Finnish Lapland

Desirable Qualifications

• Training in wilderness education or related field

• Photography skills

• Previous customer service experience

• Other language skills in addition to English

Pay, Duration and Benefits

• Start: November End: Mid January or at the end of March

• Minimum 90 working hours per 3 weeks period

• Hourly pay negotiated in an interview, according to knowledge and experience

• Other benefits according to the collective labor agreement

• If necessary, the resort provides accommodation in a shared room for €300/month

Eräopas

Työn kuvaus

• Vastaanottaa asiakkaat lämpimästi ja auttaa heitä Safaritalossa

• Ohjata safareita asiakkaiden kiinnostuksen ja kokemustason mukaisesti

• Varmistaa kaikkien osallistujien turvallisuuden ja mukavuuden, tarjota ensiapua tarvittaessa

• Jakaa laajaa tietoa paikallisesta kasvistosta, eläimistöstä, maantiedosta ja kulttuurista

• Kuvata revontulia asiakkaiden kanssa

• Huoltaa ulkoiluvälineitä ja -laitteita sekä pitää safaritaloa siistinä

Vaatimukset:

• Kokemusta eräoppaana tai vastaavassa roolissa

• Voimassa oleva B-ajokortti

• Sujuva suullinen ja kirjallinen englanti

• Ensiapukortti

• Erinomaiset viestintä- ja vuorovaikutustaidot

• Joustavuus työskennellä eri vuoroissa, mukaan lukien iltaisin, viikonloppuisin ja pyhäpäivinä

• Kyky työskennellä ulkona kylmässä

• Ystävällinen persoonallisuus

• Kyky työskennellä itsenäisesti ja tiimissä

Eduksi luettavat asiat

• Koulutus eräopetukseen tai vastaavalle alalle

• Valokuvausosaaminen

• Aikaisempi asiakaspalvelukokemus

• Lisäkielet englannin lisäksi

Mitä tarjoamme:

Palkkaus ja työn kesto

• Työ alkaa marraskuussa ja päättyy tammikuun puolessa välissä tai maaliskuussa/ huhtikuussa

• Vähintään 90 tuntia / 3 vkoa

• Tuntipalkka neuvotellaan haastattelussa osaamisen ja kokemuksen mukaan

• Muita etuja työehtosopimuksen mukaisesti

• Tarvittaessa tarjoamme majoituksen jaetussa huoneessa 300€ /kk
