TERNA ENERGY, a member of the MASDAR Group, is seeking a Wind Turbine Technician:

Key responsibilities

  • Manage daily operation and maintenance activities of Wind Farms, Substations, and Overhead Power Networks, while addressing technical issues and failures.
  • Ensure the efficient and safe operation of wind farm facilities and equipment.
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of wind turbines.
  • Communicate and collaborate with relevant Managers, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Conduct equipment inspections and perform electrical, mechanical, and technical maintenance works.
  • Prepare daily reports on maintenance activities and technical issues.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, in accordance with company policies and applicable legislation.
  • Monitor wind farm performance through Monitoring Systems, Data Historian, and SCADA platforms, as well as key operational performance indicators.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Control Room and accurately report and record faults, alarms, and warnings.
  • Ensure the implementation and completion of the annual maintenance program for Wind Farms and Substations.

Candidate profile

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (Technological Education) or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Solid knowledge of:
    1. Electrical systems (MV/LV switchgear operation, electrical drawings and schematics).
    2. Mechanical systems (disassembly and maintenance of rotating equipment, ability to read mechanical drawings).
    3. Industrial automation systems.
  • Previous experience in a similar role and knowledge of Medium Voltage (MV) Substations will be considered a strong asset.
  • Good command of the English language, with the ability to read and understand technical documentation and manuals.
  • Good computer literacy.

Additional requirements

  • Candidates must not suffer from acrophobia, claustrophobia, vertigo, or any condition that may affect working at heights.
  • Military obligations fulfilled (where applicable).
  • Valid driving license.
  • Local residency in the wider area will be considered an advantage.
