GoodwillNext develops education and certification solutions for individuals with a high school diploma to increase their economic mobility and help close the growing skills gap in our communities. The program aims to support individuals who are underemployed or unemployed by providing pathways to sustainable careers. The Coach offers career guidance, training, employment placement, and barrier removal to support participants in reaching their career goals. Efforts are tracked through educational and employment outcomes. The Coach works directly with mission leadership to coordinate funding, leverage available resources for SNAP E&T participants, and ensure required data tracking and reporting. In this role, the Coach collaborates across various mission program services, including SNAP Employment and Training, employment services, and barrier removal programs, to provide comprehensive, wraparound support to participants. The Coach works with minimal supervision and relies on self-direction to meet goals established by the organization.
Example Duties and Activities
- Implements and adheres to all components of the GoodwillNext program, including job readiness, training, work experience, employment, retention, and partnerships.
- Assesses participants to determine the nature and level of support needed and connects them to appropriate services, including internal mission programs and community resources.
- Coaches participants to set and achieve long-term educational and employment goals; conducts ongoing one-on-one follow-up to monitor progress and provide guidance.
- Organizes and delivers job readiness preparation in individual or small group settings; stays informed on current labor market trends to share relevant employment opportunities.
- Develops and maintains relationships with community partners, including internal staff, community agencies, educational institutions, financial partners, and employers, to expand available support services. Serves as a primary point of contact for partner referrals.
- Collaborates with mission program teams (e.g., SNAP E&T, employment services, and barrier removal programs) to coordinate services and ensure participants receive comprehensive support.
- Maintains participant records and databases; generates reports, tracks progress, and ensures accurate documentation using multiple reporting systems.
- Contributes to program evaluation and continuous improvement efforts for GoodwillNext.

- Technical Knowledge - Has working knowledge of G Suite, MS Office, and Indiana Career Connect (ICC). Prior Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) knowledge is an additional plus.

Other Requirements
- Ability to occasionally work a flexible schedule beyond normal business hours.
- Travel - is willing to travel to participants’ homes, workplaces, community centers, and other venues at times that are convenient to individuals being served.
- Background Screening - All candidates must pass a pre-employment background check. Must have a valid driver’s license, up-to-date auto insurance, and a good driving record.
Employment Status
- This position is supported by grant funding and is considered at-will employment. While the organization anticipates the role will continue long-term, continuation of the position is dependent upon the availability and renewal of grant funding.
