Job Description: This posting is for the Harvest Room Labor position which Hangs live birds in a shackle. It is scheduled for 1st Shift.
Job Synopsis: Located after the cage dumper, this is the first chain-driven operation. The live hanger position removes a bird from the hanging belt, by grasping a chicken first by one leg and then the other leg. Once positioned, breast side away from hanger, they will hang the bird by both legs into a shackle. The motion is repeated for the entire shift. The bird weighs 4 – 5 lbs. Team member needs to hang 25 birds per minute.
The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Work Environment: This position is required to stand by the conveyors for the whole shift at temperatures ranging with the temperatures outside.
Safety Equipment: This position requires the use of personal protective equipment including googles, hair net, beard net, smock, boots, rubber gloves, cotton sleeves, cotton gloves, and hearing protection.
