POSITION SCOPE:
The Child & Youth Worker will provide valuable, inclusive, creative, and safe programming for the children of Atikameksheng Anishnawbek. The Child & Youth Worker will create and provide culturally appropriate social and community-based programs that supports children emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- College Diploma in Child & Youth Care/Worker, Early Childhood Education, or related discipline
- Grade 12 Diploma
- 3 years of Child & Youth Worker work experience
- CPIC (Vulnerable Sector) will be required annually and at time of offer
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To develop a Child & Youth Program that will assist and support community plans, strategies, health, and social priorities.
- Develop promotion and prevention programs and services based on current health and social trends affecting the healthy development of children within Atikameksheng Anishnawbek.
- Promote and motivate children in living a healthy and wholistic way of life.
- Participate in annual program workplan development and maintenance with the Education, Social Services and Health & Wellness Teams
- Establish educational goals in the form of an annual learning plan
