Actuarial Assistant Manager, Actuarial Consulting Group

The MGS Actuarial department provides actuarial services to Manulife business areas across Asia and North America, specializing in model validation, experiencestudiesand valuation work. In addition to providing exciting work in the actuarial field, our Actuarial Development Program also offersstrong supportand incentives for writing Society of Actuaries (SoA) exams, as well as the opportunity to rotate periodically into new roles to gain a broader knowledge and experience base.

We arecurrentlysearching for talented and motivatedindividuals with prior actuarial experience, to help our team grow. The desired qualifications andanticipatedjob responsibilities are listed below.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree inActuarial Science,Mathematics,orStatistics

• Strong knowledgeable in variousactuarial concepts and their application to life insurance – probability, interest theory, life contingencies.

• Demonstrated strong quantitative,analyticalandproblem solvingskills.

• Abilityto communicatecomplex actuarial conceptsclearly andconciselyboth orally and in writingto both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Strong interpersonal skills; good team player.

• Can perform tasks with minimal supervision anddemonstratedabilityto workwellunder pressure.

• Demonstratedstrongknowledge in database software andMicrosoft Excel. Knowledge ofVBAmacrosand actuarial modeling software (e.g.GGY Axis)is preferred but notrequired.

• Driven toattaindesignation in any recognized actuarial organization (e.g.SoA, ASP). Haspassedall five (5)SoApreliminaryexams.
