Android Developer

A start-up company that is into the development of a Retail Customer Engagement suite of platform services for SMB retailers is looking for an outstanding Android Developer who possess a passion for pushing mobile technologies to the limits and can work with a team of talented engineers to design and build the next generation Customer Engagement Solution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develop their Mobile/Merchant App for the Android platform from conceptualization to launch

- Deliver across the entire app life cycle - concept, design, build, deploy, test, release to app stores and support.

- Development of quality code using cutting-edge techniques, tools and utilities

- Participate in team discussions regarding architecture and technical strategy

- working along the web developers to create and maintain a robust framework to support apps/web

- Create compelling mobile device specific user interfaces and experiences

- Keep up to date on the latest industry trends in the mobile/web technologies

- Strong team player with high energy/motivation level with a proven ability to deliver.

Qualifications

Basic Qualification

- A minimum of 2 years- hands-on experience either Eclipse with ADT and/or Android Studio.

- Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies

- Extensive experience with Java and full command of Android API on all OS versions

- Experience working a significant consumer app that is currently available in marketplace

- Experience with web related technologies, including javaScript, HTML 4/5, AJAZ,JSON,XML

- Strong knowledge of Android UI/UX design principles, patterns, and best practices

- Experience with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services

- Solid understanding of Android app development life cycle including Google Play and Amazon app store compliance policies and submissions requirements

- Experience with Android performance tuning and crash reporting applications

- Familiarity with Agile Development & continuous integration

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with messaging related technologies like GSM, SMS,MMS, XMPP,SMTP

- Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning

- Experience with embedded local storage solutions such as Sqlite or Couchbase Lite

- Experience with image manipulation and animation, including techniques like alpha blending

- Experience with iOS application development is a plus

- Solid understanding of Android app development life cycle including Google Play and Amazon app store compliance policies and submissions requirements

- Experience in working with Android Pay/Google Wallet is highly desirable

- Experience in working with iBeacons, & Eddystone SDK for Android

- Experience with wireless device to device communication standards (Bluetooth, BLE, NFC, WIFI)

- Experience with evaluating and integrating 3rd party API- s, including SDKs for social networks, advertising and analytics

- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git

- Ability to implement custom native interfaces using NDK

- Strong knowledge of UI design principles, patterns, and best practices

- Familiarity with the use of additional sensors, such as gyroscopes and accelerometers
