Position Requirements:
- New York State License as a Registered Nurse required
- Bachelors Degree required
Role Description:
- Full Time | Monday-Friday
- Hours: 8:00 A.M-4:00 P.M
- Perform the duties of School Nurse in a Special Education school age 3-5 year old's with developmental disabilities.
- You will be responsible for maintaining student health records, disseminating important proactive health information to staff and families, training staff in OSHA and first aid, and treating students visiting the nurse’s office.
- Non-Clinical school setting is ideal for building relationships and supporting ongoing health.
- Interprets health status of students to parents and school personnel.
- Initiates referrals to parents, school personnel and community health resources for intervention, remediation and follow-through.
- Provides ongoing health counseling with students, parents, school personnel and health agencies.
- Plans and implements school health management protocols for students with chronic health problems, including administration of medication.
- Serves as resource person to classroom teacher and administrator in health instruction.
- Coordinates school and community health activities and community.
