Automation Engineer

About the Role

BYD THAILAND is looking for an Automation Engineer to join our team in Nikhom Phatthana, Rayong. In this role, you will be responsible for electrical improvement, optimization, and automation enhancement of tableting and material preparation equipment to increase production efficiency and reliability.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Improve and optimize tableting and material preparation equipment, focusing on key performance indicators such as UPH, uptime, OEE, TEEP, MTTR, and CPK, and enhance the electrical system and control programming.

• Collaborate with mechanical engineers to optimize equipment control systems, MES, and related technologies such as copper whisker communication protocols.

• Conduct functional analysis (FA) and troubleshooting of electrical and control program issues for equipment with major or complex quality problems.

• Lead and support automation improvement projects to enhance equipment stability and production efficiency.

• Ensure electrical design safety and compliance with industrial standards.

What You’ll Need

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field.

• At least 1 year of relevant work experience in electrical or automation engineering.

• Proficient in design software such as PRO/E, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD.

• Solid understanding of electrical and electronic circuit theory.

• Familiar with electrical component selection, system wiring, and application of standard electrical parts.

• Programming skills in PLC or related control systems are an advantage.

• Proficiency in Chinese or English communication is preferred.
