Book Department Staff (Full-Time) Phoenix

Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for leading and promoting a customer-friendly store atmosphere by providing exceptional customer assistance. To apply knowledge of books to buying, processing, and selling; continuously incorporating positive customer focused strategies. Staff prices, sorts, stocks, and merchandises all areas of the department, as well as works at the Incoming Merchandise/Trade counter buying and pricing merchandise.

Job Requirements:

· Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills. Customer Service requires patience, kindness, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with diverse communities and customer needs.

· Professional telephone skills

· Ability to adapt to a flexible working schedule to include early mornings, evenings, mid-shifts, and weekends.

· Diverse Book knowledge.

· Understanding of the pricing, trading, and discount systems at Bookmans.

· Motivated to learn how to buy/process/sell Books.

· General knowledge of products sold at Bookmans.

· Knowledge of store sections and layout.

· Ability to work independently with guidance and direction from the Book Department Supervisor/Lead and Store Management.

· Ability to use reference materials.

· Must be able to conduct oneself in a civil, professional, and respectful manner at work.

This position is full-time (30 or more hours per week).
