The Bulk Operator must follow all plant safety, Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety rules and regulations. Documentation and paperwork procedures must be followed as well as verbal and written instructions and guidelines according to the job requirements. The Bulk Operator is responsible for producing and moving liquid mixes in a safe and sanitary manner utilizing pumps, hoses, piping, etc. to meet production and shipping schedules. The Bulk Operator will back-up Sanitation as needed. This role does not have direct reports.

Key Responsibilities
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety requirements, and standard operating procedures.
- Support startup, operation, monitoring, and shutdown of bulk production processes and equipment.
- Prepare equipment and materials required for batch production activities.
- Monitor tanks, pumps, meters, valves, piping systems, motors, cooling towers, and wastewater systems to ensure proper operation.
• Perform routine field inspections and identify potential equipment or process issues. - Troubleshoot process abnormalities and notify appropriate personnel when corrective action is needed.
- Monitor production processes and make adjustments necessary to maintain required operating conditions.
- Conduct laboratory testing and process checks while accurately documenting results.
- Develop knowledge of fermentation, acetator, filtration, and bulk processing systems.
- Receive raw materials and assist with bulk liquid unloading and shipping activities.
- Load and unload liquid bulk shipments in accordance with established procedures.
- Complete production records, reports, certificates of analysis, and other required documentation.
- Participate in inventory activities, including cycle counts and inventory verification.
- Perform cleaning and sanitation activities for tanks, equipment, containers, utensils, and work areas.
- Assist sanitation operations as needed.
- • Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements and maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Support food quality and food safety programs.
- Demonstrate proficiency in all assigned duties following completion of training and qualification requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- 1 year of experience in food processing, liquid manufacturing, bottling, blending, packaging, sanitation, or related manufacturing environments preferred.
- Ability to operate and learn process equipment, laboratory instruments, forklifts, and material handling equipment.
- Basic mathematics skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn manufacturing-related software systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work overtime, on-call assignments, and temporary shift changes as business needs require.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive physical activities throughout the workday.
- Ability to move throughout manufacturing environments.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently and over 50 pounds with assistance.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for processing and handling materials and equipment.
- Adequate hearing and speech to communicate effectively in person.
- Adequate sight to operate equipment, laboratory instruments, forklifts, and material handling equipment.
- Ability to work in environments with exposure to heat, cold, fumes, and uneven walking surfaces.
- Ability to work at heights and around production equipment and processing systems.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hats, hair restraints, and steel-toed footwear as required.
- Regular, predictable, in-person attendance on the business days the Company requires in-person attendance at the manufacturing facility as work requires.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation: The hourly pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00 per hour. This position is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Actual compensation may vary based on relevant experience, skills, education, internal equity, market data, and geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
Bonus Eligibility: This position is eligible to participate in Mizkan’s Plant Bonus Plan based on quarterly results.
