As a Senior Bunker Trader, you will leverage your established network of shipowners, operators, charterers and suppliers to drive business growth and maintain long-term commercial relationships. You will be responsible for managing and expanding your trading portfolio while delivering value to both customers and suppliers.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and growing an existing client base through strong relationship management and consistent commercial engagement.
   
• Demonstrating a strong understanding of the global bunker market, including ports, suppliers, shipowners, charterers, market dynamics, and industry regulations.
   
• Identifying and developing new business opportunities through proactive market research, networking, and business development activities.
   
• Monitoring global market trends, supply-demand movements, and industry developments to uncover trading opportunities and support strategic decision-making.
   
• Conducting active prospecting and client outreach as part of daily business development efforts.
   
• Executing bunker trades and brokering activities to secure competitive and profitable transactions that benefit both clients and the company.
   
• Preparing and managing quotations, sales enquiries, sales confirmations, contracts, and related trading documentation.
   
• Monitoring customer credit exposure and payment performance, ensuring timely collection of outstanding receivables.
   
• Managing operational issues, disputes, and claims, while coordinating with internal stakeholders and external parties to achieve effective resolutions.
   
• Taking ownership of an individual profit and loss (P&L) portfolio, with accountability for revenue growth and profitability.
   
• Collaborating closely with colleagues across trading, operations, and support functions while demonstrating a high level of initiative, ambition, and commercial drive.
   
• Maintaining flexibility to support clients and business requirements across different time zones and outside standard business hours when necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in bunker trading, marine fuel sales or a related maritime commercial role.
   
• Proven track record of managing and growing a profitable trading portfolio with established industry relationships.
   
• Strong network of shipowners, operators, charterers, managers, and bunker suppliers within the maritime industry.
   
• Sound knowledge of the international bunker market, shipping operations, marine fuel products, and industry regulations.
   
• Demonstrated ability to identify and convert new business opportunities into sustainable revenue streams.
   
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse market trends, assess risks, and make sound trading decisions.
   
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
   
• Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and results-oriented with a strong desire to exceed commercial targets.
   
• Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
   
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple transactions and stakeholders simultaneously.
